A-PAD Philippines, together with the City of San Fernando Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the University of the Assumption, and partners from government, healthcare, academe, the private sector, and humanitarian organizations, conducted Project MedX: Central Luzon Emergency Medical Simulation Exercise on July 13–14, 2026. The two-day exercise culminated in a magnitude 6.8 earthquake simulation, testing how responders and institutions work together during a mass-casualty emergency—from on-site medical response and patient transport to hospital surge capacity and inter-agency coordination.
More than a drill, Project MedX provides a space to identify gaps, strengthen systems, and build the partnerships needed before a real emergency happens. Because preparedness cannot be built by one organization alone. Through stronger coordination and regular simulation exercises, we can strengthen emergency medical systems and save more lives in less time.
