The Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management Philippines (A-PAD PH) is a member of the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD), a trans-national disaster aid alliance that works to facilitate cooperation and understanding between governments, the private sector, and nongovernmental organizations in the Asia Pacific Region.
During the 2011 Asia Pacific Relief Summit in Tokyo, Japan, leaders of multi-sector actors from five different countries agreed to create a framework for action in times of disaster. These leaders became the founding members of a new organization called A-PAD. The establishment of A-PAD was announced at the 5th Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in October 2012 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Subsequently, A-PAD National Platforms were established in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bangladesh, South Korea, Japan and the Philippines.
