3 JUNE 2022,BULUSAN, SORSOGON – Weeks after the first eruption of Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon, A-PAD PH Human Resource Network (HRN) in Bicol Region conducted a relief distribution to the 5 out of 9 barangays affected by this eruption, namely in Aroroy, Bacolod, Ranggas, Anog, and Catanusan. These barangays were heavily affected by the recent phreatic eruption that contaminated their water supplies.
In partnership with Albayanihan, Waves for Water and Support of Sorsoganon (SOS), 30 water filter buckets were distributed to the affected communities. With the water filter buckets, affected communities will have access to clean and safe drinking water. One water filter can benefit at least three families.
Before the distribution, HRN volunteers led the demonstration on how to assemble and properly clean the water filters.
