24 MAY 2022,DAVAO CITY – Regional Platforms (RP) in Bicol and in Davao held meetings last May 13 & 24, 2022 to consult ongoing DRRM activities.
Davao Region – Four (4) partner organizations participated in the RP Meeting held in DCCCII in Davao City. Highlights of the meeting are as follows: (1) launching of the Human Resource Network in Davao region with the help of Assumption College of Davao; (2) expanding the network with the medical sector; (3) have regular communication and meetings to activate and sustain the collaboration; (4) revisit the participation and capacities of each organization during emergency response activities to have a more defined role. (5) propose DRRM activities like BCP and Multistakeholder Forum in coordination with the LGUs; and (6) have available information materials from A-PAD PH to share or present during partners’ activities and meetings. Present in the meeting were Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Assumption College of Davao, MASIPAG Mindanao, Davao del Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Bicol Region – A-PAD PH, in collaboration with the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) and the Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), conducted a Multi-sectoral Consultation on Health Emergency Response During Disasters in Legazpi City on May 24, 2022. The activity’s goal is to create a forum to share information and experiences, as well as discover areas for collaboration in health emergency response. This forum has provided a venue to discuss the strengths and capacities, gaps and challenges, and areas of collaboration to strengthen the DRM in the Bicol Region.
Mr. Elmer Lorenzana, a Bicol University Professor and APAD PH Board Member, summarized the conversation, highlighting the necessity of coordinated and integrated programs in health and other sectors for a successful health emergency response, as well as the need for barangay-level service development.

A-PAD led a 2nd multi-stakeholder forum in San Fernando City aiming to strengthen collaboration & understanding among key DRRM stakeholders.
A-PAD PH donated emergency medical supplies, including shelter tents, AEDs, and PPE, to the Philippine Medical Association to contribute to strengthening their disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
