September 13, 2023,San Fernando, La Union – Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management Philippines, a multisectoral platform for disaster management and Philippine Medical Association, the country’s primary medical association proudly announces a significant milestone in the recently concluded Regional Medical Consultation on Emergency Medical Aid and Care held on September 13, 2023 in San Fernando La Union.The objective of the consultation was to deliberate on the course of action to be taken in disaster-affected areas and synchronize and establish coordination mechanisms between public and private medical groups.
The Regional Medical Consultation brought together an esteemed group of medical professionals, experts, and representatives from both public and private sectors. The event provided an invaluable platform for stakeholders to share knowledge, exchange best practices, and collaborate on optimizing medical aid and care services during emergencies and disasters.
During the consultation, insightful discussions centered around devising effective strategies for preparedness, response, and recovery in disaster-affected areas. Attendees examined the challenges faced by medical personnel, identified critical areas for improvement, and proposed do-able solutions. These exchanges aimed to enhance the coordination between public and private medical groups, ensuring a seamless response mechanism during times of crisis.

The Regional Medical Consultation aims to kick off the conversation on developing a strong coordination system between public and private medical groups to ensure that resources, expertise, and critical information are shared in disaster-affected areas. These combined efforts will establish new standards for emergency medical response and greatly improve the quality of care delivered to affected persons and communities.
