A-PAD Philippines’ July–September 2026 newsletter brings together stories of multi-sector collaboration, community-led disaster preparedness, youth participation, and ongoing recovery efforts across the country.
From emergency simulation exercises to grassroots climate action, the third quarter of 2026 saw A-PAD Philippines and its partners continue to strengthen disaster preparedness and response through collaboration and community engagement.
This quarter’s lead stories feature Project MedX, which brought together local government units, hospitals, medical responders, and partner organizations for large-scale emergency medical simulation exercises in Central Luzon and Western Visayas. The exercises tested inter-agency coordination, identified response gaps, and reinforced the importance of preparedness in saving more lives in less time.
The issue also highlights the growing role of young people in disaster risk reduction and climate action, including the Waves of Resilience campaign in Estancia, Iloilo, which engaged more than 260 youth and community members through environmental activities, creative expression, and disaster risk education. Other stories feature learning sessions on climate and energy risks, the MSME Resilience Forum, youth-led initiatives in Caraga and Ilocos Norte, and partnerships advancing inclusive disaster resilience.
At the heart of this issue is a story of recovery from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Maasim, Sarangani, where A-PAD PH and its partners supported 680 families through relief assistance and community-based activities.
Together, these stories reflect A-PAD PH’s continuing commitment to building stronger partnerships, empowering communities, and turning preparedness into collective action.
