Following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on 8 June 2026, A-PAD Philippines immediately activated its network to support response, coordination, and resource mobilization efforts for affected communities across Sarangani, Davao Occidental, South Cotabato, and neighboring areas.
Recognizing the scale and complexity of the emergency, A-PAD PH convened a series of coordination meetings and network briefings to gather updates from the ground, map humanitarian actions, and identify gaps requiring immediate support.
The Mindanao Earthquake Response once again demonstrated the value of multi-sectoral collaboration during emergencies. Through the collective efforts of local governments, civil society organizations, private sector partners, academic institutions, volunteers, and community leaders, assistance was mobilized more effectively and reached communities in need.
A-PAD PH extends its sincere appreciation to all partners who contributed resources, expertise, time, and support throughout the response. As emergency response transitions toward early recovery and rehabilitation, A-PAD PH remains committed to supporting coordination, information sharing, and partnership-building efforts that help affected communities recover stronger and more resilient.
The organization will continue to work alongside partners in identifying needs, mobilizing support, and strengthening community resilience across Mindanao.
